Juvederm is a dermal filler designed to perform soft tissue augmentation. We use it to correct nasolabial folds and other age-related imperfections. It’s composed of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring chemical found in the body’s connective tissue. Many patients and physicians prefer Juvederm for its non-animal composition and smooth, attractive results.
There are two formulations of Juvederm: Ultra for treating most facial wrinkles and folds, and Ultra plus for volumizing and treating deeper wrinkles.
Juvederm Treatment Applications
Juvederm is FDA approved for treating nasolabial folds. Other common uses include the following:
-
Lip enhancement
- Correction of marionette lines
- Correction of tear trough deformity
- Restoring facial volume for sunken cheeks or acne scars
- Correction of glabellar furrows or forehead creases
How is Juvederm treatment performed?
Using a very fine needle, Juvederm is injected into specific areas of the face in a short outpatient procedure.
After Treatment With Juvederm
After treatment, it’s common for patients to look a bit fuller than expected, but this condition improves rapidly. Mild swelling and bruising may also be experienced for a short time. The results will last approximately 6-12 months.
